CIM Executives Visit Royal Thai Navy Operations at U-Tapao and HTMS Chakri Naruebet

Asst. Prof. Dr. Cholpassorn Sitthivorongchai, Dean of the College of Innovation and Management, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Yananda Siraphatthada, recently led a delegation from the Security Network Development for Executives (Batch 17) program on a strategic field trip to Chonburi Province.

At U-Tapao Royal Thai Naval Airfield, the delegation received briefings on maritime surveillance, national defense, and emergency humanitarian assistance. The visit featured demonstrations of Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), specifically the Schiebel Camcopter S-100 and Aeronautics Defense Orbiter, showcasing their advanced capabilities in maritime intelligence and reconnaissance.

In the afternoon, the group visited HTMS Chakri Naruebet (CVH-911), the Royal Thai Navy’s flagship and helicopter carrier. Built in Spain and commissioned in 1997, the vessel serves as a command center for fleet operations, air defense, and disaster relief. This study visit provided in-depth insights into the Navy’s readiness to protect national sovereignty and highlighted the vital importance of multi-sectoral cooperation for sustainable national security and peace.
