September 28 – Thai National Flag Day
In Grateful Remembrance of the Royal Benevolence of His Majesty King Vajiravudh (King Rama VI)
We respectfully commemorate the boundless royal benevolence of His Majesty King Vajiravudh (King Rama VI), who graciously bestowed the Thai Tricolour Flag as the national flag of Thailand on September 28, 1917.
His Majesty established the symbolic meanings of the three colours of the national flag:
- Red represents the nation and its people.
- White represents religion.
- Blue represents the monarchy.
The Thai Tricolour Flag, the national flag of Thailand, stands as the nation's most revered symbol. It serves as a lasting reminder to future generations of the sacrifices made by our ancestors to protect and preserve the nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The flag also symbolizes the unity of the Thai people, bringing hearts together as one, fostering solidarity, strengthening national pride, and inspiring a shared commitment to the continued progress and development of Thailand.
